Catching up...

What a difficult week. As I watched the people from Argyle C of C surround the Lee family I was once again reminded of how many of you surrounded us when we were in the beginning stages of grief. Thank you from the depths of my heart. I am humbled yet again by God's people and their ability to rise to the occasion and show their love for their christian brothers and sisters. It leaves me speechless. Please continue to pray for Ryan, Amanda and Griffin in the weeks and months to come. Baby Jack was loved so deeply and will be greatly missed. If you would like their address to send them a note, email me and I'll give it to you (gsbbking@aol.com).

Baby Jack and Griffy

The Lee family

This Thursday at 10:30 am will be baby quatro's level 2 ultrasound. And yes, we are going to find out if it's a boy or girl. My perspective on that has really changed. Once you have a baby that does have a problem, you really realize the ultrasounds are not just to determine what color to paint the nursery or what gender clothes you need to hang in the closet. We are prayerful that this ultrasound will continue to give us pictures of a beautiful HEALTHY baby. Although we will not be able to totally rule out Down's Syndrome at this ultrasound, we should be able to look for some "clues" that would lower the possibility. Again, our goal here is to bring a sweet baby home. We are at peace with whatever happens.

On a lighter note, Greg and I are not on the same page with baby names. Any suggestions? We aren't ruling out using another B name, but we are open to all name suggestions. Keep in mind that our last name is King...no Smo King or Jo King or Lion King's please (that's for you Amy)!

The kids waiting for the Disney World firework show

We finally finished Bailey's soccer season. Bailey was the leading scorer for her team! I think she scored every goal with her left foot. Her confidence has really blossomed this season and she is finally learning that it's ok to get kicked in the shins and fall down every once in a while. She is really getting tougher! She will play co-ed basketball starting in January with the YMCA. That should be fun to watch!

Beckham still has to turn 4 before he can start playing on an actual organized team. He practices everyday with his soccer ball and even wears Bailey's shin guards and shoes when she's at school. He has also been carrying around Bailey's trophy and claiming it as his own. I guess we haven't totally jinxed him with the name Beckham, because he really does show great interest in sports.

Greg has been playing in pick up games at a local park and last night a group asked him to join their league team. He was very excited that they noticed his awesome talent (my words, not his!) and that he can play consistently on a league again. The kids and I look forward to being able to cheer him on. We all enjoy watching him play. The weather here is so beautiful that I don't anticipate it being miserable sitting outdoors and watching the LOOOONG games!

As for me I'm just staying busy with the kids and with being a housewife. It's never ending! I can only imagine when we have three little ones! I am not quite in my maternity clothes yet but the day is quickly approaching. I have had to swipe a few pairs of Greg's shorts to give my tummy some breathing room. I also have to confess that while having coffee at IHOP with some girls from church a few nights ago, I had to unbutton my pants before I could partake in any of the sweets. Luckily the girls are chill and they forgave me for unzipping my pants in a public place! I guess it's time to break out the stretchy stuff! :)

That's about it for now. I'll post the doctor visit update as soon as all the family is called. By the way, Boothe is having her baby on Friday. Some of you may have followed her blog last year during the loss of their daughter Copeland to Trisomy 18. Please pray for them as they deliver their newest baby girl. http://conorbootheandgirls.blogspot.com

Hey, Shannon,
I am Marty, Dallas Henderson's sister. I actually thought you were naming your sweet baby Quattro. I know it might sound silly (actually, Dallas thought I was silly), but I live in Fort Worth and actually know a few kids named Quattro, Cinco, Vee, all in order of the family they were in or because they were actually the IV or V. Anyway, I think Quattro is a precious name whether you use it or not. And if you don't, it is a cute nickname.
